A growing acute care hospital in the Southwest is seeking an experienced Senior Director - Physician Services to lead physician practice operations across a multi-site environment.

This senior leader will provide strategic, operational, and financial oversight for physician practice management and serve as a key partner in advancing alignment between employed providers, outpatient practice operations, and broader organizational goals. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned healthcare operations leader who can build structure, improve performance, and support continued growth across the medical group.

Position Overview

The Senior Director - Physician Services is responsible for leadership, direction, and overall administration of physician practice operations. This individual will oversee the operational and financial performance of assigned practices, support strategic initiatives, and help strengthen integration between the hospital, medical group, and employed providers.

In addition to day-to-day operational leadership, this role will also help guide professional development efforts, support organizational growth initiatives, and promote efficient, patient-centered practice operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for physician practice operations across assigned locations
  • Direct administrative, operational, and financial performance of physician services
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and workflows are implemented effectively across practices
  • Support strategic planning and execution in alignment with organizational goals
  • Drive operational consistency, accountability, and performance improvement
  • Partner with hospital and physician leadership to strengthen provider alignment and integration
  • Assist with expansion efforts, practice optimization, and physician services growth strategies
  • Monitor practice performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead and support professional development initiatives for teams within physician services
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture across practice operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Additional education or formal training in Healthcare Management or Business Administration required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing physician practices required
  • Strong operational and financial management background within physician services required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead across multiple practice sites and functions
  • Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Must reside in the region or be able to relocate within a reasonable timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience supporting practice growth, integration, or expansion initiatives preferred
  • Ability to relocate quickly is a plus
